INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO
"Fak'ugezi" 2023 - Event Design
“Esc”, "click", “transported”. Designed for Fak’ugesi in the Tshimologong precinct, “ESC” is a multifunctional space where you can leave the technological world behind you and embrace the feeling of being amongst nature. Tranquillity, serenity, and stillness are the feelings that “Escape” encapsulates. Designed to be a space that is interchangeable from a busy work life to a laid-back event, Escape provides a harmonious mix between the digital world and reality. Repeating materials and features such as the green wall features and the mimicked tree canopies all encore the feeling of being in nature. This space can be described as the hub for individuals to explore, network, relax and regroup.
Synchonicity House - Inclusive Design
Accessibility, future, longevity. Synchronicity House was built for a young couple who has never had the pleasure of having a home that reflects them and suits their needs. This accessible house caters to the needs of a mobility-limited individual who will one day rely on a wheelchair to move around. Reflection, harmony, movement, and free-flowing, are some of the key aspects featured throughout the synchronicity house to ensure that the space can grow with this couple. The house takes on an open pan layout to allow for a moment and transition. A close relationship linking the interior and exterior of the house is a notable feature throughout the various spaces in the house. This space is a reflection of the couple's personality and dynamics, which ultimately, make them sync together.
Fountain of Youth - Aesthetic Clinic
The preservation hub of youth & beauty. Rejuvenating, tranquil, invigorating. The Fountain of Youth aesthetic clinic is a dream-like space where you are immersed in the healing powers of water. The space intends to make you feel as though you are bathing in the sacred water of the fountain of youth, where time and age have no consequence, everything simply washes away. The continuous elements of water ripples, spirals and curves are all design references to the structure and purpose of a fountain. The space makes key references to water and the reflection of water. This clinic is the meeting place where age and youth coexist harmoniously.
'Twist' Brewpub - Resturant Design
Modern, sophisticated, vibrant, and multifunctional.” Twist Brew Pub” is a modern take on a traditional pub/ bar. The brewpub is designed specifically around the signature beer called “Twist”. The space takes on the features of the beer itself, it's exciting, different and non-traditional. The space is catered specifically to the people “In-between” who enjoy beer culture but not necessarily the taste. The running theme throughout the design pays homage to the traditional craft beer copper kegs. The colour palette and theme across the bar are coppers with turquoise accents, which play on oxidised copper. Nestled in the heart of Pretoria, “Twist Brew Pub” stands out amongst it's surroundings and demands attention.
Oh So Heavenly - Retail Design
A cherished brand from humble beginnings gets the recognition it deserves through a flagship store. The Oh So Heavenly flagship store ties the feeling of being in the clouds amongst something heavenly whilst still being on earth. The space is comprised by the rule of three which can be linked to the idea and concept of “perfect symmetry”. These three elements which are all linked harmoniously, are the entrance (your gateway/ entrance into heaven), the centre (your dreamlike space which invites you to wonder) & the highest point or ‘above the clouds’ (the mezzanine level) which allows you to have an indulgent and one of a kind experience. The foundations of the brand are built on philanthropy, self-love, caretaking & gifting. These elements are represented as the foundation of the brand which is featured in the heart of the space, which houses the brand's most beloved products. This store celebrates what it means to be a woman, the ability to dream and to be looked after/ cherished by this brand.
